In August 2013, I received an email from a Digital Marketing agency asking me to write a blog post about a vacation package being promoted by Jumeirah Beach Resorts – a luxury UAE resorts brand.

They had found one of my high-ranking content blogs, UaeTamil.com (now defunct and being domain-squatted by some Chinese site).

I remember being paid AED 750 for the article. I was already receiving USD 100 every year from Google AdSense from some of my blogs which I had started in 2006-2007 (the main ones being UaeCreatives.com, UseUAE.com, KaramaStuff.com, UaeWebOfLife.com, UaeTamil.com). I know it’s not a big amount but hey I was not updating them and had started them as experiments.
